Support Assistant for LSS Residence in Östersund

Do you want to work in a role where you can be active, creative, and at the same time contribute to creating security and structure in other people's daily lives?

We are now looking for three patient and dedicated support assistants who want to help develop our LSS residence in central Östersund. Here you will work closely with our citizens, participate in meaningful activities, and help prevent behaviors that require extra care through a professional and calm approach. If you enjoy a varied job where every day offers new opportunities to make a difference, this could be the right place for you.

Two of the positions are 100% and the third is 70% with the possibility to work up to 100%. The expansion can take place within other parts of the disability sector, giving you a chance for variation, new experiences, and a broader network. We are committed to creating a flexible work environment where your wishes and the goals of the organization meet.

The working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, on-call overnight, and weekends. You will work according to a laundry schedule with the opportunity to influence your schedule based on current guidelines. Start date is according to agreement.

Your New Job

At our LSS residence, we actively work to implement methods to prevent behaviors that require extra care and strengthen citizens' ability to regulate their emotions. As part of the workgroup, you will work from a preventive approach and with a KASAM-inspired perspective, where comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness are central components. The residence consists of a staff apartment surrounded by satellite apartments where citizens live, with a few residences placed in close proximity. Our common area has great potential, and we would like you to help develop how it can be used more for social interaction and joint activities.

The work is varied and includes everything from social activities such as gym, training, hockey, basketball, walks, excursions, and sometimes even vacations to care tasks such as personal hygiene, showering, and toilet visits. The work is not physically demanding, but it is important that you enjoy being active and accompanying citizens in daily activities. There are also tasks delegated by licensed staff.

To Thrive in the Role

To thrive in this role, you need to be stable, patient, and have a good ability to maintain professional distance. You are confident in your approach and understand the importance of distinguishing between the private and the professional. You should have experience working preventively and preferably have previously met individuals with, for example, ADHD and autism. It is advantageous if you are used to working with visual support and Sign Language as Alternative and Complementary Communication (TAKK), as well as having an understanding of structured and pedagogical working methods. In daily work, we use the operational support Boet to facilitate planning and implementation of interventions. Daily documentation takes place in our journal system Viva. You also have close collaboration with support educators and operational support to develop the support and interventions for our citizens.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, attentive, and committed to creating a meaningful everyday life for each individual. With us, you will be part of continuing to develop the operation and contribute to more joint activities, excursions, and an active lifestyle for our citizens.
